Aloha Gang....How ya all doing on this beautiful Monday afternoon....Today we start the new week off with an excellent and exciting NFL matchup...Last week in the NFL I finished it off posting a super
5W-1L record, with my
TOP Plays going
1-0...I am looking to only improve upon this as we enter into new week in the NFL...So with that said, what do you say we get this Monday Night Party started already...LETS ROCK-N-ROLL BABY!
**ABOVE AVERAGE PLAY ON:
Minny +3.5
-Why do I like Minny, when the whole world seems to be all over this new and improved Philly team with the addition of Mr Sharpie TO on Offensive.....Well, it is because I dont believe that Philly has now become the cream of the crop in the NFL just because of the acquision of WR Owens....Sure he will make their Offense that much more better, but this Philly team, though good, still has a lot of team question marks in certain areas on both sides of the ball....The past two years, Philly has been hit hard by free agency and salary cap restrictions...Put plainly, they have lost in my opinion more in way of Key players than they have acquired, mainly on the defensive side of the ball...and last year even though going to the playoffs and ending the regular season with a 12-4 record, Philly still only ended with an Offense ranked 18th overall and a Defense ranked 20th.
Minny, on the other hand, seems to be in a little better predicament this year than many people are giving them credit for...This Minny team is once again loaded on the Offensive side of the ball and this year has only gotten more potent with several additions to an already highly effective and efficient Offense...Last year they did miss the playoffs due to a monumental season ending collapse, but was still able to end being the Top ranked Offensive unit in the league...Minny's problem is on the Defensive side of the ball, and that is where this franchise has concentrated on making the biggest improvements for the year with players like CB Winfield and DE Udeze from USC...
In short, I feel that both Offenses will be productive tonight against the others Defenses...but Minny's Offense will be more effective at holding and controlling the line of scrimmage a lot better giving QB Culpepper enough time to hit whomever he desires....This Minny Offensive line is a solid one and should also be able to open up a lot of holes for RB Smith to rush behind like they did vs last season's #1 Defensive unit of the Dallas Cowboys....Also, with such an unstoppable and talented player like Moss is, who will also be lining up in many different areas...who is going to cover him all night long....Moss will draw double coverage, freeing up someone else for Culpepper to throw to, like he did vs Dallas where 9 different players caught a pass....Moss will also cause problems for this Eagle defense in man coverage, as he goes 6-4" and the Eagles to new CB's only stand approx 5-9"....Last seasons Pro Bowl CB's of the Eagles in Vincent and Taylor had the size and proven ability to handle a receiver like Moss, this years editions dont....and that spells trouble for the Eagles...The Eagles also is a little banged up in the secondary as well with CB Sheppard (broken thumb) and starting safety Lewis (quadricep), but both are expected to play..
Bottom line for me in this one is I feel that the Minny will be able to run on this Eagle defensive front and the secondary will have more than enough then they will be able to handle with Moss and company....On the other end, I feel that eventhough Dallas was able to pass a lot on this improved secondary of the Vikings, we cannot forget that it was done with very talented WR's in Johnson, Bryant, and Glenn, who arent nobody's...But, the Eagles Defense although playing solid last week, did allow the hapless Giants to rush for over 100 yards and QB Wagner to pass for over 200....In the end, if you look at the stats, you will clearly see that QB McNabb and Philly outproduced everyone including this potent Minny Offense, but you need to also look at who Philly played(the hapless Giants) as compared to Minny (vs last years playoff team with #1 defense, and Coach Parcell)...Minny stat wise lost it to Philly, but still won handily vs Dallas even with having 19 less plays on Offense...Plus, it was QB Dante Culpepper who was voted as the NFC Player of the Week and not QB Donavan McNabb, and that says a lot to me...
I like the Vikings to surprise everyone tonight...Take the Vikings plus the points in this NFL Monday Night Thrilla!...Good luck and Aloha CC.
